10 Basic Keys To Greatness In Your Multi-Level Marketing Business

A lot of us want to be or do great at something in life, for many of us it may be Network Marketing. Whether its Multi-Level Marketing or something else you want to be great at, the principles for getting there are the same.  To help you on your way, here are a few keys to learn and practice..

1.       Get Started
The first key to greatness is to make a decision and get started.  I get a lot of inquiry from people wanting to run their own business in the direct selling industry, but only a few of them actually make it along to take a look at the company and it's products and out of that, just a hand full of them actually starts the business.  To embark on your journey to success you must at least take your first step to go take a look.  If you’re not there you can’t and won’t learn and make a decision.

2.       Keep Showing Up
There are lots of distractions in life, and all too often after an initial burst of enthusiasm people find things getting in the way of their initial training and learning period.  At this point you need to decide how much you really want it. If you want it enough you will find a way to put the distractions aside and carry on your path. You must also be very consistent in showing up for every event that your company will put up, from city level up unto the national level. Every person at the top of their game shows up in every event.

3.       Put In The Hours
Research suggests that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a skill.  Certainly in my own experience I have observed in all areas of life that it is not necessarily those who initially seem to have a talent for something that achieve the greatest success, but those that stick with it and put the practice in year after year.
It will take you about 5 years if you spend 4 hours each day for 5 days in a week to put in 10,000 hours of practice into your own business and focusing on developing your selling, inter-personal and any other skills you may need to build a great business for yourself. All of life is about sales and all sales is about influence, So must put in effort to develop by constant practice. If you decide to practice your business by exposing 2 people to your business each day, freedom will come your way.

4.       Practice Brings Improvement
It is not just the quantity of practice that matters, but quality as well.  When you practice, always try to be improving, not just going through the motions.
So always work with the law of averages in mind and try to improve upon your starting ratios, one way to see you are improving or developing is that, your business and activities must get easier overtime.

5.       Keep Working On The Basics
A true master does not tire of doing the basics of their business, because they understand that they create the foundation for everything else that they do.  As you keep practicing the simple basics you will find many subtle nuances that you were previously unaware of and that were beyond your understanding.
If you happen to be in a company that sells nutritional products and supplements like my company, then you are required to be a product of your products by using them everyday. Believe in them before trying to get someone on them.
Also, one key practice in this industry is to build an organization by getting others involved. So you must never stop talking to people and getting new members to join you as a basic routine.

6.       Consult The Experts
Wherever possible, consult the experts to help you in learning and improving.  You must not waste time trying to reinvent the wheel, once there are people who are doing better than you are and may have been around for sometime before you join the company tap into them and learn new and better ways of doing things in the business.  You can do this in many ways, asking good questions and listening to the answers in meetings and trainings are good starting points.

7.       Set Goals Along The Way
That target of 5 years can seem pretty daunting, so it helps to set intermediate goals along the way.  This is why we have a system of ranks or levels on the marketing plan in every company (but if your company doesn't have it i suggest you must look for a better company), it helps us to see the progress we are making on our path to mastery and taking charge of our lives and building a financial wall around us and our families that nothing can get through.
You might want to set other goals as well, maybe specific sales and money you would like to earn on a weekly or monthly basis. Be sure that it must always grow. Then put in the work to achieve your goal, you’ll feel great when you do.

8.       Don’t Let Setbacks Push You Off Your Path
Inevitably on your journey you will from time to time face setbacks.  You may not achieve some of your goals as quickly as you had planned.  You may have a job or other life commitments that needs to be attended to.  This happens to EVERYONE, all too often people will let these setbacks stop them and move them off their path.  Those that go on to greatness are the ones that treat these setbacks as delays and not as obstacles that can’t be overcome.  As soon as they are able to, they get back on their path and carry on from where they left off.

9.       Enjoy The Journey
A lot of these keys to greatness have been about hard work and perseverance, but it is important that you enjoy yourself along the way.  One of the secrets to this is to learn to enjoy hard work! But as well as this, take time to have fun with what you are working on.  In network marketing business this can be things like competitions and performances, taking advantage of promotions, extravaganzas, and the social events we have from time to time.
Here are a few videos of some of the fun times we’ve had along the way at my company.

10.   Surround Yourself With Like-minded Individuals
This last one is really important.  The road to mastery is a long one and its going to be a lot easier if you have support along the way.  When you look at the great people in any area of expertise, you will often find that there is a group of them that developed a particular skill at the same time, often coming from the same community, the same social groups and so on.  This is no coincidence; having friends and acquaintances who are pursuing the same goals you are is a huge help.
These friends can provide inspiration, motivation and competition that helps you to become the best you can be.  They help you to stay focused on your goals and to have fun along the way.  It is a lot easier to put those 4 hours into your business because every time you hang out with your friends you end up doing some more learning(prospecting and selling) because its what you enjoy doing together.
So make friends with the people you do business with.  As well as seeing them at training and all events, take the opportunity to socialise with them as well.  If you don’t have enough friends in network marketing, see if some of your other friends would like to start and help them begin their own journey to own and run their profitable business.

Become Successful In Life

Regardless of how old you are, where you live, or what your career goals are, everybody's ultimate goal in life is to be happy and successful. But success is not something you wish for in the future but how you design it for today and must be willing to work on it until..........

Consider the following notes for some basic ways to achieve success in your own life.

Health first.
A healthy body supports a healthy mind. Eat a balanced diet and ensure that you aren't lacking in any necessary nutrients. Establish the cause of any problems you may experience, such as a lack of energy or a lack of concentration and deal with them by discussing with a doctor, nutritionist and related health or wellness professionals. Get plenty of exercise too but align it with what you love to do rather than what you feel you have to do but dislike.Your exercise can be in a form of dancing, walking and jogging. Also practice total wellness which is 80% nutrition, 20% fitness and 0% excuses. .

Identify your passions. Before you can achieve success, you will have to define what success means to you. While it may take years to realize what you want to do with your life, identifying your passions, interests, and values will help you set goals and give your life a sense of meaning. Ask yourself the following questions:
  • How would you like to be remembered by others?
  • How do you want to make your community a better place?
  • What are your subjects of interest?

Make a list of your goals, and what you might do to achieve them.
Be sure to address both short-term and long-term goals; try to think beyond financial/career,social and self-centered goals.
  • Consider which subjects you enjoyed studying in school, and why. This can help give you an idea of what you may be best at or more interested in.
Live purposefully. In order to achieve your dreams and be the person you want to be. You will have to start paying attention to your actions. Ask yourself, is what I'm doing going to lead me to where I want to be in life?
    • If you find yourself constantly bored, daydreaming about the future or past or counting down the minutes until the day ends, it is probably because you feel disconnected from what you're doing. Consider changing careers or majors to a field that you care about but remember that it could mean changes you are not thinking of. Does that job pay enough to support yourself? Is it something you might get bored of eventually? Do you really want to commit to that job?
    • Cherish your time. Try to spend your free time doing things that you enjoy doing, rather than wasting time. For example, rather than spending your weekends watching television, spend them partaking in your hobbies or spending time with loved ones.
    • Remember that the concept of "wasted time" is relative. Not everything you do has to be productive in the conventional sense, but it should be engaging and enjoyable.
    • Find some great part-time business that interest you to consider instead of wasting time behind televisions and with negative friends and relatives, get something interesting and meaningful doing.

Be educated. Education gives you the knowledge, skills, and credibility to achieve your maximum potential. In terms of financial success, statistics have shown that the more education you have, the more money you are likely to make.
    • Not all education has to be formal. Apprenticeships and long-term training programs are also positively correlated with higher incomes.
    • Be a life-long learner because college education will help you earn a living but self-education will build you a fortune.
Manage your finances. Learning how to manage your money will help ensure your financial stability over time, regardless of your income. is not how much you makes that matters but mostly what you do with it that counts and makes the difference.
    • Keep track of your expenses. Review your bank statements often and notice where you spend your money. If you do your banking online, be sure to keep personal records as well. This will help you prevent over-spending and ensure that your bank statements are correct.
    • Understand your income. When calculating your income, be sure to take into account the taxes that will be deducted from your gross income. The resulting number is your net income, which is what you end up taking home with you.
    • Prioritize spending. Your first priority should be spending money on basic necessities like food, shelter, and clothing. Don't spend money on luxuries like expensive clothes, cars, or vacations until you have first satisfied your basic necessities. Be honest with yourself and differentiate between your basic needs and your luxuries.
    • Save money. Every month, you should deposit 10% of your money into a savings account. Consider (the 70,10,10 &10 rule) 70% of your net income for spending,10% of it for charity or tithe,10% of the net income for savings and 10% for active investment. it make a big difference in your life.
Time management. Putting off important tasks until the last minute can cause you unnecessary stress, and increases the likelihood of errors. Manage your time so that you have enough time to complete a task effectively.
    • Use a paper or electronic planner to help keep you organized throughout the day, week, and month.
    • Make a list of all the things you need to do in a given day, and check off each task as you complete it. This will help you stay organized and motivated.
    • Always keep a journal on you.
Enjoy the present moment. If you are constantly dwelling on the past or daydreaming about the future, you are missing out on the present moment. Remember that the past and the future are simply illusions, and that real life takes place here and now.
    • Start paying attention to negative thoughts so that you can learn to silence them and enjoy the present moment. If a negative thought arises in your head, then acknowledge it, label it a negative thought, and then let it fade away.
    • Get in the habit of paying attention to the small details around you. Appreciate the feeling of the sun on your skin, the sensation of your feet walking on the ground, your beautiful hands on the keypads now. Noticing things like these will help you silence a rambling mind and appreciate every moment.
Never compare your self with others. Unfortunately, many people measure their own success by comparing it to the success of those around them. If you want to feel accomplished and happy, you will have to stop comparing your life to other peoples' lives.
    • Many people have the tendency to compare the low points of their own lives with the high points of other peoples' lives. Remember that no matter how perfect somebody's life may seem, behind closed doors everybody deals with tragedy, insecurity, and other difficulties.
    • Rather than comparing yourself with people who are "better off" than you, think about all of the people who are homeless, chronically ill, or living in poverty, even your dead friends and family. This will help you appreciate what you have. Rather than feeling sorry for yourself put a proper plan in place and work on them until you become the "you" that you want and stop wishful thinking or imaginary craziness.
Count your blessings. No matter how much you achieve in life, you will always feel unhappy if you constantly focus on what you don't have. Instead, devote time every day to appreciating the things you do have. Think beyond material items; appreciate your loved ones, remember happy memories and take a look around you to see all the good things nature offers you at no cost.
